Stories from the Road … Rain, rain go away … again!

After a day and a half of decent weather, the rain moved back in with a vengeance and the temps dropped. Is this South Carolina? More like what we left behind in Ohio!

The morning was spent … well the morning was spent. We did pick up some Krispy Kreme donuts, fresh, not hanging around in a case for days or in a package on the grocery store shelf. Mmmmmmmmm …

So what to do on a rainy day in Myrtle Beach? Go shopping of course! We headed up to the Myrtle Beach Mall where Mom and I hit Belk’s department store for clothing and the boys headed to FYE and Bass Pro Shop. Andy got to see some salt water fish in a tank, whoo-hoo! I guess he was “under”whelmed.

After shopping we dropped Mom and Dad off at Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede for dinner and a show. Now I’ve heard, and they said later, that it is a great show, but it’s just not our cup of tea. The rest of us headed back to get some dinner. We just wanted something fast, so we stopped at Five Guys Burgers and Fries. Sorry, no fabulous food stories for this day.

Having more time to kill before picking up the folks at the show, we headed to Broadway At The Beach. This is a huge area full of shops, restaurants and attractions, centered around a small lake. It was still drizzling but Andy and I took a little walk while Dana caught up on his blog, logging on to Starbuck’s Wi-Fi. Here are some photos I took of the place:

The ducks don't like this weather either!

The ducks don't even like this weather!

We will be going back to Broadway.. we have to hit the aquarium and maybe the I-Max theater! Check back for more about our adventures in Myrtle Beach… maybe it will even stop raining!

Well, any interesting people along the way? Everyone has been asking why I didn’t go, but since the rain rain rain glad I didn’t. I think I will need to go to that area when there will be more sun. But good stories and glad to see you are all still alive.

Don't be shy, speak up!
