Cleveland to Tucson – Day 1

This will be short as we are all exhausted.  Up at 4:30 am to start our journey.   13 hours later, only 8 pm Tucson time but 11 pm our time!  Two plane rides at approx. 2-1/2 hours each plus all the crap that goes with flying just takes it out of a person.  Andy was a real trooper all day.  All our gear got here without loss or breakage.

Are you drooling?  This was the best plate of barbecue beef I ever had in a restaurant.  It’s in a food court in B concourse in Houston’s George Bush airport.  Dana always eats here when he goes thru Houston, and you can see why – it was yummy!  Andy had McD’s as usual LOL!

The flight from Houston to Tucson was especially grueling as it was on a little plan.  Andy had his own seat, and did sleep part of the time.

The drive from the airport to the hotel was great – first thing we saw was 12 ft tall saguaro cactus, just outside the airport.  Here’s the landscaping outside BJ’s Brew House where we ate dinner.

No green yards here!  Cactus and palm trees everywhere.

The hotel is gorgeous!  Clean, friendly people, lovely pool and hot tub.

Now for the second best plate of the day

Oops! Eaten before the photo was taken!

But I wish you could have seen it, even better yet tasted it!  Grilled shrimp tacos with fire roasted salsa and avocado cream sauce.  We were starved and basically wolfed our meals down along with some decadent dessert, warm brownies and chocolate chip cookies with ice cream.  Andy had a deep dish pizza with tomatoes.  This was at BJ’s Brew Pub in Tucson, just around the corner from the hotel.  I leave you w ith a toast from Dana
