A few days ago we found a large stand of milkweed in beautiful, pink bloom at the back of the beach at Lake Erie Bluffs. The fragrant flowers were full of bumblebees! Several other varieties of bees and flies were congregating on them too. But what we did not see? Monarch butterflies. Where are they this year? I have seen exactly one on my garden flowers this summer. Have you seen monarchs on your flowers this year?

I haven’t seen any yet, either.
I love milk weed flowers – and bumble bees! Thanks for sharing!
